My Journey as an Autistic Practitioner
I am autistic, and my path to embodied healing has been deeply shaped by this neurotype. For years, I struggled with traditional approaches to spirituality and healing that didn't account for how my nervous system actually works, how I process sensory information, or how I experience emotions and relationships.
Through trial, error, and deep listening to my own system, I discovered somatic practices that actually supported my autistic nervous system rather than working against it. I learned to honor my sensory sensitivities, my intense emotions, and my unique ways of processing the world.
This journey taught me that healing doesn't require masking or forcing ourselves into neurotypical frameworks. Instead, it's about finding sustainable approaches that work with our natural wiring, celebrating our strengths, and creating safety for our nervous systems to regulate and thrive.
